Morning all, it's a grey day weatherwise as Rangers take on Hibs at Ibrox. This is an important game to me as I currently reside 5 minutes away from Easter road, so I hope to see all the dejected away supporters coming down the road later, silence from the Hibs pub round the corner from my flat etc.
Hibs have been a real mixed bag this season, they had a poor start and it seemed to be a race between David Gray and Steven Naismith to get sacked first. A race won by Craig Levein. But they've found some passable form now and they are always going to be motivated for a game at Ibrox.
It's very important that we don't let the positive energy built over the last 3 games (3 wins, 3 clean sheets, 3 performances of gently increasing quality) dissipate with a poor performance or poor result today. We absolutely have the ability to give Hibs a turning over today, especially considering the quality of our performance in Sweden on Thursday.
We don't want to get carried away with a few good games, but then we've very rarely had a few good games in a row this season. Clement has been keen to express that we are improving game by game, it's been a slow uptick overall, but the last 3 games we've seen a few big steps for me.
In terms of line-up I imagine Jefte will return, even given Kasanwirjo's heroics on Thursday. This could be a good game to give Tav a rest, even for a half if we are winning well, but I won't hold my breath.
Bajrami has now carved out that spot on the left so he will continue. Sterling was doing some press work so he may come in for Diomande? That would disappoint me though, on Thursday the Barron/Dio partnership brought us so much joy.
Bit of a shorter one this morning given the tight turnaround between the last two games, barely had time to breathe. But I'll make up for it with some in-depth post match analysis. Here's hoping for a good Sunday fellow Bears.
