Rangers Vs Celtic preview: Dr 49er, or: how I learned to stop worrying and love the takeover

Morning everyone, so we have come to the last Old Firm of the season. One of the most dead rubber Old Firms I can remember. Rangers fans aren't talking it up because we fear a crushing defeat given recent form, and Celtic fans aren't talking it up because they've already been slapped about twice by this Rangers team.

The main recent news at the club has been the continued progress of the takeover, which really can't come soon enough. In recent seasons we've drifted towards the summer, normally with a Scottish Cup final awaiting us, and everyone has said the club need to improve in the window, in general responsibilities like ticketing and fan access. And then inevitably we've come to the summer and nothing has changed. Leading to even more apathy from supporters the following season.

That cycle has to be broken eventually and although I can't guarantee the new owners will immediately revitalise the team and club, atleast it will be something different from the norm.

On the future manager prospects there was a video of Steven Gerrard saying he loves Rangers while drunk. Think we can pencil him in as the next permanent boss then.

For the team today, I can't even imagine who will play, just whoever is around probably. Barry has been talking about how half the squad isn't good enough and we will see changes his entire spell. So at this point we must be near starting the kit man and the u-18s players.

Celtic have a few injuries aswell, they will probably come into the game with a real desperation to actually beat this truly awful Rangers team and not let Barry Ferguson ends his interim spell unbeaten in Old Firm matches.

Our set up should reflect the game at Celtic park, we had a good combination of going direct and knowing when to slow things down. I'm not sure if any of the players actually listen to Barry anymore, so I'm not holding out much hope of that actually happening.

The hope is that we can all enjoy the game by looking to the horizon anytime it isn't going our way, and picturing the arrival of the new owners and what that might bring.
