Afternoon everyone, we're back in action today against Dundee at home. I think the main challenge for today will be coming down from the physical and mental levels exerted in last week's cup final.
It's common to struggle in the games following a very trying defeat. And Sunday was certainly a trying defeat. Saying that, we've had a week off, so maybe it's just the mental side we need to keep an eye on.
I expect that we'll return to the 442 that's served us well against inferior opposition. Danilo and Igamane upfront. Providing we've not lost anyone extra to injury, the lineup will be the same as the Ross County game likely.
Clement has to be pleased with the reception the performance got from the support in the past week. I am still in the "we should look for a better manager" camp but there was an increase in positivity around the Belgian following the Old Firm.
Our opposition today are sitting just above a relegation battle, they aren't safe by any means but I think they will be targeting fixtures against the teams around them more than games like today. I could see them having a go as today will be a free hit for them.
If Lyall Cameron is playing for the Dee it could be a good chance to see a player up close that we were linked with in summer. There's a chance we will go in for him again in January too. He's been Dundee's best player this season at only 22 years old. That's exactly the profile of player we should be targeting in Scotland.
I expect today will be a bit more reserved in terms of performances. This is when players start to feel a bit of tiredness pre Christmas and that will be obvious on the pitch.
Hopefully the performance, however reserved, gets us 3 points and we have a comfortable afternoon anyway. Have a good day everyone.
